You could but the spring already has some play when you jack up the car so I would be scared that it would fall out even though I'm sure it's not very likely. With my Buddy Club's I just took out the whole perch so it's just the spring by itself and it sits nice and tight.

I've been contemplating on doing this for awhile on my pro-s, but that's what I'm afraid that happening while I drive, always a chance.
