Your engine sucks air in when needed, it does not require a tiny fan that will only effectively restrict airflow by blocking its path. The K&N design is not a bad one, I'd stick with it.
In addition, if there was a small fan powerful enough to feed more air into an engine, superchargers and turbochargers would have never been invented.
