A quality remote start that has a manual transmission mode will make sure that the car is not in gear before remote starting. It does this by requiring that the user performs a sequence of steps before exiting the car. Usually you must come to a stop, have the clutch and brake engaged, pull the e-brake, release the clutch, release the brake, press remote start button on remote, take key out (car will stay running), get out of the car, shut the door (car turns off by iteself). This tells you it's ready for RS. Sound complicated, but if you think about it, it's a pretty standard way of doing things.

So even if you're used to parking in gear, you could use this when you're going to want to remote start it and be perfectly safe.

By the way, this installation uses NO paperclips.
