Just in case you don't feel like spending $10. for a hard wire cable, and you don't want to destroy the original cigarette lighter cord, any phone cord will work. The jack on each end is EXACTLY the right style, and the 2 middle conductors carry the 12V. I used the black phone modem cable that came with my laptop (use that a lot) and cut about a 12" section for this use. The Red wire turns out to be 12V+ and the Green wire is GND. I checked a few other cords, and they're all using the same color code. Good luck!
