Doug, I am having a hard time visualizing this. Are you going to keep the stock cold air tubing and then add an additional duct/hose at the very bottom of the base of the airbox? If you do that, I would try and pull air either from the front of the vehicle or the fenderwell area.
On another note, I would give serious consideration to the Amsoil dry type drop in filter that should outflow the K&N which is an oiled type of filter.
