OK, I have a 2007 Si & I do want to increase the intake flow without increasing the exhaust sound....having already done all my former Camaro Z28's mods (when I was still able). I was considering this idea in my tiny little mind...& if this has been proposed before, I apologize in advance (I tried a search)!
My idea is this: Replace the drop in stock filter with a K&N, cut a 4" round hole into the bottom of the stock intake box & rivet a 4" washer Duct intake (such as this:
Lambro Industries at Lowe's: 4" x 5' UL Transition Duct Vent Kit), run the lower intake into a position of lower air inflow box & have the lower end secured near the bottom of the vehicle.
I don't see a problem with water-lock (due to the intake being pointed down & the stock intake being operable). Is this a dumb idea or has anybody tried it yet? Any potential problems seen with this idea?
