I'm not sure if that's absolutely neccesary. I know with the CAI I put on my LX, I could get to the filter by pulling the splash guard and reaching in. I haven't put a CAI on my Si yet so I'm not sure if you have to pull the bumper to get to it.
Can someone else varify this?
