He made it to the very first north/central fl meet. He lived close-bye to me and even taught me a few things about auto-x. We even had some crazy runs in his car where I video recorded it. I've called him a few times recently without any returned calls until the other night when his wife called me and got my voicemail. She told me that Steve passed away over the Holidays (I don't know how tho) and that she was sorry to have to tell me that. I could hear the pain in her voice when she spoke. I was shocked. I couldn't imagine how it could've happened, and even though I didn't know him very well, I felt horrible. This was so far my closest Si buddy and we were to do lots of auto-x and garage work together this year. It pains me that this happened to such a nice guy who was only middle age at most.
So this is a tribute to Steve. You'll be remembered buddy.
Ps - His wife said she still has his car and it's FOR SALE if anyone is interested. It's a real nice silver Si with some lightweight wheels and some tasteful cosmetic stuff done to it. 904-743-0688 for info. I'm sure he'd want an enthusiast who'd appreciate it and take care of it than some goof who'll trash it or waste it.
