IMHO, the AJP exhaust by itself is not obnoxiously loud. What is obnoxiously loud is when the wastegate opens and bleeds excess exhaust gasses through the dump tube to atmosphere. I'd rather see a Y-pipe that can connect to the end of the wastegate dump tube itself that offers the user the ability to switch between having the excess exhaust gasses either vent to atmosphere (when at the track) or sent back to the exhaust plumbing and using a flex fitting (to keep it quiet during everyday boosting).

Later this month, I will be doing something similar to the above to quiet down the exhaust gasses coming out of the wastegate dump tube.
i find my exhaust to be boomy when driving under 4200 rpm ... that is where the waste gate won't open ... especially when moving from a stop.

i don't like it when i just start the car up and it's even louder ...

i'm just thinking about it now but i'm leaning more towards this mod and going back to stock or comptech.

the way i see it ... i'd put a 3" random tech cat in there to cut out some of those fumes i get when my windows are down, put this in after the cat, have a stockish exhaust to keep it clean, sleeperish and quiet ...

i don't do much street racing so i don't even care to have it operational during everyday use ... ... beside i can run someone with it closed, depending on the outcome i'd open it up
