Seriously if that is the best you get than there is something not quite right. Either you are slipping the clutch too much or you are hitting VTEC every 5 seconds. The worst gas mileage I got was on my first tank with mostly city driving and it was around 24 mpg. Now with these crazy temperatures that we have been having (-5 below and -25 windchill) my gas mileage has gone down some but I am still averaging around 25mpg with mostly city and some stop and go highway miles. Usually in the summer that will go back up to around 28mpg average.
I think it might be because I have a short commute (12 miles) over hills and through a lot of stop lights. The last tank I had I put in a good 180 mile high jaunt, even though I was driving less than mpg friendly, and I got 26.9, which is a lot better.

But I usually try to keep my RPMs above 2700, more often in the 3k to 4k range. I wonder if that messes with my MPG. The reason I do so is I feel like I might be bogging the little engine down if I try and accelerate below 2700 if I'm not in first gear or second gear.
