Spend the couple extra bucks and get a pioneer. Or just say screw the dvd player, and you could get a pretty damn nice cd player for the money you would spend on that.... I bought an indash dvd player and have used it once.
CHECK OUT THIS CLARION MAX675VD ON EBAY ITS GOING FOR LIKE $599 AND IT CAN PLAY THE VIDEO FROM YOUR IPOD. THE KENWOOD 7" SCREEN IS GOING FOR ABOUT $650 (NOT SURE OF THE MODEL#)
I was actually looking into the Jensen for a while. It has a LOOONG list of functions that sounded great for the price. DVD Player, MP3 player, SD Card input, touchscreen, TV Tuner Included, Ipod hookup, and more.
Then I actually saw it in person at Circuit City and I was turned off immediately. It looks even cheaper in quality in person. I was sooo dissapointed.
i have a jenson thats the non touch screen its not to bad i mean it was like a little over 400 shipped...so im happy with it...ipod conection add everything
I'd stay away from Dual products, Jensen is pretty much the same. Dual is sold at Best Buy though and Jensen is at Circuit City, they're the good price / cheap quality brands for both stores in the car audio market.
In-dash DVD players have a prohibition on video feeds unless a car's parking brake is applied. This is to ensure compliance with traffic laws aimed at preventing distraction of the driver while the vehicle is in motion. Some installers bypass this limitation by grounding the parking brake, so the player "thinks" the brake is on even when it's not.
Vans and larger vehicles with players that are not visible to the driver do not have such limitations, since distraction of the driver is not an issue.
Those newer jensens you actually have to initiate a parking break sequence, so just simply grounding it out as it used to be no longer works, but i believe there is a bypass by entering a certain code on the remote.
I think with the pioneer I told you about you can just ground it anywhere and it will bypass having to use the e-brake. It's a totally different story on the AVIC-Z1 though.
I bought the CLARION MAX675VD. So far it's been Great. I just purchased the surround sound processor for the unit, It's not as adjustable as the Alpine unit.
If you have the extra cash I would recommend the Alpine or Pioneer units.
It has optional navi, IPOD adapter, processor, TV Tuner. With the touch screen it's a great unit for the money.
I personally wouldnt spend that money without having the dvd. But im sux theres some aux imput to hook up a dvd. that is the easiest way to bypass or get around the ebrake having to be on right?
jensen, clarion and etc.. shitty
, sorry but its the truth
Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, JBL and Eclipse = good.
