How much current does said amp pull? Look @ the fuses in the side/bottom of the amp and add them all up. That's the maximum amount of current the amp can pull a split second before the fuses blow.
I would say it's ok to hook up to rear batteries(If they're 12 volt batteries...) if it pulls less than about 30 amps. Anything larger and I'd like to see an 8ga or larger wire run to the front battery.
If it's quite a bit more than 60 amps I'd run a 4ga from the front battery.
The rear batteries are +12V, correct?
