I haven't been able to find any threads on how to install a remote car starter, so thought I would ask. I know that when u buy a car starter they come with instructions, but they are generic.

I'm debating getting one installed from futureshop or somewhere but they charge $150-$200 plus the cost of the remote starter $200-$300; it adds up quick. Online u can get them for $100-$200 but have to do it yourself.

for anyone to knows about installing one:
1) is it a major hassle (I can do car stereos, amps and stuff without problems and find that straight forward).

2) does your factory alarm have to be disabled
