My 07 Si is doing the same thing.

When the car is under load, for example, say you're going up a hill in stop and go traffic, you come to a stop and then when you go to start again while in first gear letting the clutch out it will make a loud hum sound, if you have to ride the clutch for a few seconds it will continue to hum...even become louder. But if you're able to pull away quickly without having to ride the clutch then it doesn't make the sound.

I made an apointment to bring my car in tomorrow.
