i followed these directions and adapted them for the installation of a pioneer deh-p6000ub head unit. joon joon helped me out by putting together the metra harness with the amp integration rcas and the pac unit - the rest was up to me.

i've spent most of the day working on getting the unit installed. sadly i have discovered that i can't get the head unit to turn on - regardless of whether the car is in i, ii, or iii or is on and running.

i have checked my soldering and it looks good. i have red to red, orange to orange, and yellow to yellow from the pioneer harness to the factory harness. the ground wires are in an appropriate place. i tapped into the pink wire on the smaller factory harness and attached the pac unit's white wire from the pac unit to this. i tapped into the brown wire on the smaller factory harness and attached the pac unit's black wire to this. tapped into to the light blue wire on the smaller factory harness is the blue wire off my antenna adapter as well as the blue and white wire (formerly labeled system remote control) from the pioneer harness.

why would the head unit not be turning on? this is causing me a great deal of distress.
