I took this trick from Mike Phillips, a very skilled detailer and who knows meguiars products more than anyone on this planet.
Really? He said use it as an LSP? or apply it by hand? A GLAZE is not a wax, hence the name glaze.

Quoted from Autogeek. Highlighted to show point. Source: Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze is a final step auto glaze to enhanced the gloss prior to wax application. Get a show car shine with Meguiars #7 Show Car
"Renowned for its superb glimmering finish, #7 Show Car Glaze is legendary among those who swear by the hand-rubbed philosophy. But it achieves splendid results when applied by orbital buffer or dual action polisher, also. This is a true showman’s glaze originally developed for the avid collector, serious enthusiast and show-car exhibitor. The depth of shine is nothing short of stunning!

Meguiar’s #7 Show Car Glaze is a true high-yield polish with no protective qualities. Be certain to follow application with a coat of top-quality wax such as Meguiar’s Premium Paint Protection or Meguiar’s Hi-Tech Paste Wax #26. The rich emollients and nourishing oils in #7 Show Car Glaze produce a very deep, heavy mirror-gloss shine. #7 is safe to use on all paints and clear coats.

Whether you’re ready to show or just show off, Meguiar’s #7 Show Car Glaze is equipped to deliver the ultimate high-sheen finish. When you’re that serious; get the glaze the pros use--#7 Show Car Glaze!"

Furthermore, to define a GLAZE: "A glaze is a shine-enhancing product that goes on after polishing but before the wax or sealant. It is made with oils and wetting agents that amplify your paint’s shine and improve the clarity. Glazes are usually used by auto manufacturers and paint and body shops to prefect freshly painted surfaces before the vehicle is handed over to the consumer. Glazes generally do not have protective qualities, but they may have fillers that hide any slight imperfections in the paint. A glaze is often used by a body shop after compounding to restore the shine and eliminate haze.

A glaze is not a polish or wax. It is strictly a shine-enhancing agent that will produce a dramatic wet look on your paint. On the concours series, a glaze is essential to achieve a winning deep gloss. Most glazes have no protective qualities so always follow with a wax or sealant."

I can keep going all day long.
all stating that #7 is not an LSP and has no protective qualities. I'm sure you misunderstood what Mike Phillips was saying. I wouldn't argue with him, but I doubt he'd recommend using #7 as an LSP as it would defeat the purpose of the detail.
