What I mean by "weak" is just that.

Our cars can, believe it or not, fit very aggressive fitments as far as civics go. As you might have noticed, you can fit 17x9's down there and still not rub if done properly.

a 7.5" wide wheel on say a 215/45 tire will be sunken. It will sit inside the wheel well, so if you stood at the front of back of the car, you wouldn't be able to see you rim! To some, it's a dilemma just because.. why spend money on rims and have it sit like crap?

It's not the 17" or 18" that makes the difference, it's the width. From the side, yes, 17" or 18" will make or break the car, but from another angle.. if you're too small in the width department, you lose points because it just does not sit flush.
