Venting a Bypass valve tot he atmospher is not a good idea...When you recirculate the boosted pressure back into the inlet it allows for faster "recovery" of boost with the supercharger...You would in theory be hurting performance by venting it to the atmosphere.

Probably a bypass valve that recirculates...NOT to the Atmosphere..But different than the ones on the Positive displacment kits...It won't be a butterfly style one but a membrane style one as you can use those on Centrifugal charger.
