brake lathe. very easy to do. you put the rotor on the lathe and tighten it down, and set these two very sharp filing surfaces down as lightly as possible to the very inside of the rotor. then you flip the on switch and the assembly the rotor is mounted on slowly moves out while the rotor rotates. this shaves a very small amount of material off of the rotor, which files down any badly warped areas so that the surface is flat once again. takes about 15 minutes a rotor. the idea is to take off as little material as possible.
