Hello, new to this forum here.

Anyways, I just picked up a 07 LX 5MT a few days ago, and the break in period is almost over.

My friend tells me from what he reads in a few forums, some people change their oil right after the break in period, and those that are really religious change the oil every 100 miles during the break period.

The reason for this is, he says that since the engine is running for the first time, and cuz the pistons are movin for the first time, there would be alot of metal shavings.

Now, I figure, oil change this early wouldn't hurt, but I read in the manual that I shouldn't change the oil until the scheduled break in period.

What should I do? What have you done? I only have about 200 more miles til the period is over, and I don't want to screw it up.
