either they or you can change the fluid with whatever brand you choose as long as it meets the fluid spec'd by the OEM.

In Honda's case.... their specs are so loose, it is a joke... If MTF cannot be found use a 10W-40 or 10W-30 Motor Oil... One fluid that you cannot use is a GL-5 Gear Lube.. Loose spec's ??? MTF is a GL-4 and a Motor oil is a GL-1.

Of course, the proper fluid such as AMSOIL MTF will make your transmission shift smoother and last longer.

It makes no difference what the Dealer says, The Law trumps that... It is calle The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act
