Pac developers would know as we, as individuals and customers, don't test their products.
Basically, you don't have to go past the 5100 ohm. Why? because a resistor will most likely resist(as the name tells) an excessive amount of e- flow(electricity) throughout the circuit that may cause damage. So, a resistor will keep electric flow within the safe current numbers so your PAC controller won't get burnt.
