Ex5coupe - Jeebus man, it's because your original post was full of foolishness.
First off - A G-tech is about as inaccurate a measurement as you can get for acceleration statistics. It's a step above someone in the car using a stopwatch...i guess.
370 pounds is typically considered about .3-.4 seconds slower in the quarter mile. The usual "rule of thumb" is drop 100 pounds and you'll lose .1 second in the quarter. This becomes more effective as you lose more and more weight. So you were running around 15.0-15.1 in the quarter, if you believe in the G-tech and remove the extra weight. (WTF is the point of doing runs with 2 other people in your car anyway?)
You bought a car that requires premium and then complained that your car ran a 15.4 second quarter mile and requires premium, while having 2 people in your car. That's just ditzy.
Why don't you go hook up a trailer to your car and then complain about it's quarter mile time as you "just figured it would be faster than that but apparently not."
And yes, this car is slower than it should be....in 2008 terms. Back in 2001, when this engine/transmission made it's debut, it was quick. It's now over 7 years later.
