they don't have a second cam, so they don't hit VTEC like the Si or RSX-S.


The L series is a SOCH, so no crossover. however, it differs from the r18 i-vtec. Unlike the r18, their i-vtec engages during mid-range rpms. Thus gives more mid-range power. Theres a youtube video, where someone put a vtec engagement indicator. So in a sense, some could consider it a design for "performance"
