HAHA! Thouroughly enjoyed reading through this entire discussion today. Funny stuff. Anyway, I've always filled my tires to the max on the sidewall (all tires I have had have shown max COLD ratings), and I have never had a problem. I've used 7 different sets of tires between 4 different vehicles, and my tires have always lasted at least as long as they were supposed to, if not considerably longer, and I wasn't light on them by any means - spinning em, sliding around corners, driving like a fool basically. And in my Civic, I've always gotten atleast 32mpg with any kind of driving - city or highway (straight highway driving is usually upper 40s by the way), light (rarely, unless with the wifey or parents) or "very spirited"... That's just my .02 - And don't anybody get their panties in a bunch and jump all over me about any kind of proof, logs, etc - I got nothin but what I just told you.
