You are safe filling any tire to the max pressure on the sidewall - if you can stand the ride.

I tried 40psi in the Dunlop rate 44psi but the civic wandered in the wind. 36psi is just right for me.

I just wish somebody would tell these AAA guys, who are interviewed everytime the news does a story on hypermiling, that there is no problem filling past the recommended PSI on the door jam...... and that hypermilers dont tailgate.... and that it's not a hazard to do the speed limit...... etc etc
