he's saying that he doesn't want to use hisstereo that he had in his ex because the dash lighs in an EX would match the blue lights on his aftermarket radio but now that he has a si the lights are not blue like the rest of the civic family but they're redish orange and putting a stereo with blue lights would not match the color theme with the rest of the car so instead of changing out the radio he wants to keep the stock stereo but put his system (subs, speakers,...) in the car running of the stock HU.

line out converter works great. i had one in my 06 explorer until i got my pioneer head. but if u plan on adding speakers and using the stock head for a long time, i'd invest in a sound processor like the rockford fosgate 3SIXTY1 or 3SIXTY2. they let u tweak the eq settings for speakers and subs and add external sources
