well i just got the following:

SanDisk CF PC Adapter ($18.99 CDN)
SanDisk Ultra II CF 8gb ($49.99 CDN)

i just threw a bunch of songs on the card to test it out and seems to work ok. need to put folders on the card to further test it. its cold outside right now and it works fine.
