negative, they arent
first off the draw 100 watts, you high beams draw 65 watts (more wattage = more heat and more chances at things melting ;-) )
if you want the same wattage, and more output that limits you to HIDs or HIRs
HIDs in highbeams arent always recommended as its IMPOSSIBLE to flick them without damaging the bulbs or ballasts
whereas HIRs are still halogen, but with a film on the inside the keeps the heat on the filament, so it burns brighter
they are about as expensive as silverstars (silverstars are LESS lumens than stock bulb tho!!!! just whiter)
eBay Motors: TOSHIBA HIR 9011 & 9012 BULBS, THE BRIGHTEST AVAILABLE (item 180296811894 end time Nov-04-08 22:49:13 PST)
that is the link to the ONLY seller ive been able to find with the toshiba ones
GE developed it, and sold it to toshiba, its in weird cars like Vipers and stuff
but theres a tab you can pop off and make it a 9005 bulb just like that (requires some cutting of base, but he marks off where for you!!!)
high beam equivelant is 9011 cut tab its now a 9005 ;-) 65 watts and way more lumens!!!
the low beam version is a 55 watt 9012 = 9006 with cut tab, and puts out the same lumens as your current high beams ;-) and actually lasts a decent amount of time!
good investment for highbeams, tho low beams i still suggest a nice digital HID kit from retro-resources.com
