Thumbs up how to ship with UPS from the USA and NOT pay an arm and a leg

so i read somewhere on here that shipping EXPRESS through UPS or FedEx would cost less brokerage fees. so i figured i'd try it out.

i bought some parts from Honda Parts Deals, $650 worth of parts, and chose EXPRES to ship. EXPRESS was $10 more over ground so i figure why not take a chance and see what happens, its only $10 and if i did have to pay brokerage then it wouldnt matter if i shipped ground or EXPRESS.

it took a week for Honda to gather all the parts together, figures since i ordered 16 items. UPS received the parts from Honda Monday morning. from there it went from RI to CT to KY to Mississauga...in 24 hours, airshipped.

i got the notice on my door on Tuesday stating i have 2 packages for me and they would redeliver the following day and the day after if no one answers. my parents are home in the daytime so i know someone will be home to accept.

on the notice i had to pay a COD charge to receive my boxes.

the COD charge was . . . . . $43.70! for $650 worth of parts. shipping EXPRESS was $105 but ground was $95 so you're not paying much more for express.

i called up UPS and payed the COD through credit card, you can also write a cheque and hand it to the UPS driver when they come to your door. while i had UPS on the phone i asked if there were any other charges, the person said NO, you just pay taxes and NO brokerage.

good deal.

so keep this in mind people, you want something from the states fast and cheaper, ship EXPRESS only with UPS/FedEx.
