How well does it work? Does it last long or are their problems?

One of my friends bought some sort of special spray paint specifically designed for wheels from CT (Canadian Tire) and it looked decent for about 3 weeks and then it started coming off in spots and looked awful

If I opt for the powder coat solution I would want it to be a one time deal. Not something I have to redo on a regular basis.
