Run down to Sears and buy a Grabit set...it'll make it easy to get the bolt out.

One side of the Grabit bit drills a starter slot into the remnants of the old bolt...then you flip it and it backs the bolt out nice. Worth the ~$30...you'll use it for more than just this anyway.
