It seemed to me when I had the HFP suspension that the spring rates are only a little stiffer than oem, however they did a lot of work on the shocks, its just too harsh of a ride with HFP and 18" tires. I was fine with 18" wheels with the oem suspension and the Tein SS coilovers were also compliant because they SS has adjustable shock absorbers, better than HFP.
-Both cars felt more planted, more so with the Tein SS coilovers simply because the springs and shocks were appropriatly matched and the car sat a little lower.
But I wouldn't say outright that the Tein SS coilovers would get outhandled by the HFP suspension. - The Tein SS coilovers handled just as good and gave more comfort, and more of a drop.
If you dont drop your car too much with coilovers and adjust the height so that you lower the car only an 1 1/4" I'd say that the Tein SS should do slightly better than the HFP suspension.

Thats the compromise you have to make for handling....you cant expect your ride to absorb bumps as passively as the stock suspension...increasing ur spring rate and/or stabilizer bar result in a stiffer ride...good handling and soft ride dont go hand in hand...if you want a comfy ride(subjective) get some eibachs with some tokicos...if u want a stiff suspension controllying weight transfer go with skunk2 coils or watever u want...12 kg and 10 kg spring rates wont ever absorb bumps as well as 2 and 4 kg springs...u have to make a sacrifice for good handling...and of course "good handling" is subjective to everyone
