I just got a 2007 EX sedan auto last week and notice that when it switches gears, it loves to really jump into it and hit about 3-3.5k RPM.

I can be going 30MPH and just oh so barely give it gas and it will immediately jump to 3000 RPMS. I then let off the gas and it drops back down to normal, 2k or so. I wouldn't mind it if I was really giving it gas and needed the extra kick, but just cruising in rush hour on the way to work and having it kick like that every single time is getting annoying.

I'm coming from a 1999 Camry and so far, that rid was much smoother. Is this normal and I should just get use to it?
