Im a mech. engr. and I dont see an arguement. Based on facts, the solid pullie will not absorb harmonic vibrations as well as the one with a rubber ring. However your engine will die of wear and tear before the pullies really damage anything.
And honda will not include/design anything in the car without a reason. Everything has a function, because they will do whatever it takes to save money, as any business would.
