It looks like you are off to a good start and being kinda a computer nut myself it looks like a fun project. I think it could be done. Unfortunately, part of your project is going to have to be trial and error.

You know it's really not that hard to pull out the dash panels and the stock radio. It's only a couple bolts and then it all just pulls apart. Do you have the nav dash panel yet? I'd say the only way to figure out exactly how much depth you are going to have is to install the nav dash and measure how much depth you got.

If the mobo is 7x7, you might be better off putting the cables out the side, probably the vent side. It might save a lil space, if it fits that way.
