ixizHood Installed.

My buddy has the ixizHood for his WRX and I'd always wanted to pick one up. The owner/designer/creator of ixizConcepts was an active member of the WRX forum I belonged to and he was always coming up with some cool ideas. I was very happy to find out that he'd come up with an ixizHood for the 8th gen and ordered it right away.

There's a review/DIY thread already so I won't rehash things, but Ming really takes pride in his products, and it shows down to the packaging. This is a 3 piece kit, a hood bracket, a long bracket that attaches to the radiator support, and a strut.

The setup doesn't weigh very much at all... both brackets are machined aluminum, and the strut is not very heavy at all... all high quality stuff. I'd guess that this doesn't weigh much more than the hood prop does.

Some Detail Pics:

The action is very smooth on this thing, and it's balanced just right so that once you get the hood about half way up... it starts going the rest of the way up, when you bring it down it dampens itself nicely and has just enough momentum to firmly close the hood without that slam that makes you wince... like closing the door on a well built luxury car.

Very happy with the setup... and it's a pleasure not fumbling with that hood prop any more.
