Expect possible decreases in fuel mileage due to that rated oil.

The only way to maintain a cleaner powerplant is frequent oil changes, synthetic oil gets just as dirty as conventional oil. Regarding breakdown, there really isn't any exception, resisting extremes is resisting viscosity breakdown.
Of course if one's running several trackdays a month with their daily driver then synthetic would be the way to go, however if joe bagadonuts is just VTECing the usual amount around town conventional lube will do just fine.
I hear dudes say they run synth all the time and change it out every 3K when all they do is drive back and forth to work, I just smile and say, "it's
your money".

But you still are throwing money away if you only use synthetics for 6000-7000 miles. I'm over 14,000 on my run of AMSOIL SSO 0w30 right now.
