CTR Push start button DIY install w/pics and wiring diagram

I ordered and installed the Civic Type-R start button and bezel + the hazzard button.
This applies to a sedan since the coupes have the mirror controls in that spot.

This is the basic wiring diagram that I used. Its based on ones that other 8th gen users have made but I simplified it.
I borrowed that switch picture as well.
I used a fuse tap to get my +pos power (acc radio.) the -neg is a bolt near the fusebox

JDM packaging and wiring diagram!

some wiring harneses i tried...found one that fit.
i got it out of an old printer...how you do this is up to you.

close up of plug

before picture

tools and supplies (wire stripper, wire; 18-16ga for smaller stuff 14-12 for ign wires, crimps, inline taps etc.)

the lower panel pulls off and you have to get this one screw

how you make this work is somewhat up to you as well. I cut the notches so that it would snap in and then i used some ring terminals to hold it down.

looks good

getting my switch and the GND- and ACC+ leads connected to the relay..test to hear it click.

here are my connections to the IGN and 12v wires...

ran them up to the relay

tidy the wires up and get ready to re-install the dash cover

i installed the CTR hazzard switch while i was at it

here is the installed button close up

finished product in different lighting...the start button lights up but is fairly dim
