In the engine bay, it will get warmer, but you'll be fine as long as the hot-side isn't closer than an inch I would say.
It will smell when you bake it. Your entire kitchen and maybe more than that will smell like the paint somewhat, but it will subside as time progresses. If your wife is picky about stuff like that, do it when you have the day off and she has to work or is shopping. Maybe open the doors and light some inscents afterwards.
I didn't use a torque wrench and I broke two studs. I had to order them 8bucks a pop and tighten them just a little all around and let honda do it. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I break stuff very easily. People say it's b/c I'm big. I'm not sure if that's the problem or what, but the best of luck to ya. If you torque them down, use the smallest torque wrench you can buy and check with the dealership with what it should be at. I can't remember off the top of my head.
