You can't say that based of one track that the cobalt handles better than a Cayman S. Different drivers, different driving condition play a big role in determining the true handling potential of a car. My SLK230 was rated at 8:29 seconds on the nurburgring but did it handle better than my Si? Hell no. It depends on the track, conditions and above all who is driving. In a race in which both cars are together with similar driver skill levels will only determine which one actually handles better. Gathering a host of lap times around various circuits than averaging them out would be the best indicator of which car is faster on a general trend basis. I'm sure some autocrossers have seen a cobalt running, maybe a few them can offer some insight.
