Actually, by the time I got back to the main road, all the fuel display lights were out. I put 12 gallons even in the car which means I didn't have much more than a gallon left.

And you're right. There are several features that I don't use on a daily, or even weekly, basis. Have you tried using the voice commands? Those are tricky!
Good luck with the Navi. Hopefully you don't get stuck somewhere with no gas!

Yeah, I've used the voice commands. Actually, depending on what I'm trying to do, I can walk right through the process "almost" as quickly as I can do it by hand. The trip rerouteing I was doing on the fly while coming home the other day, I was doing via voice commands. It's pretty slick really. I'm very impressed with the speach recognition routines.
Where I've had issues is getting the routine commands correct. Example: I've arrived at my destination (doing my own navigation) and ask the unit to show me my location so I can add it to my address book. When I first tried to do this, I was using the command "display location." The nav unit would come back and say "displaying gas stations," or some other nonsense. I'd cancel that out, punch the speach button on the steering wheel and "deliberately" say, "display location!!" It would respond, "displaying gas stations."

I finally looked up the command and discovered that I should have been saying, "display
current location!" After that it worked fine.
Commands like "display menu" and "display map" work just fine. I tried "display audio" once and it turn on one of the POI icons again. In this case, you have to say, "display audio
screen." Why this one is different from the other two, I haven't a clue. I'd really like to talk to the programmer on that one!

Some commands are relatively liberal in how precise you have to be. Others require you to be very exact in your wording. Who knows......
I'm getting there though!
