LOL. There are 4 patches of rubber that connect your ~2500lb steel and aluminum cage to the asphalt at 65mph. You should always get the best tire you can afford. If tire A can hold on longer and stop shorter than tire B, and you can afford to buy tire A, then it's not a waste of money. Saying something so ridiculous to the contrary is insulting.
