Out of curiosity, does this thing update any of the programming or is it just the mapping and POI database?
I just got off a trip to Illinois and Missouri. I did a lot of playing around with the Nav unit and I do have a few complaints.
1. The darn thing "inisists" on keeping me on an interstate road even if it takes me 200 miles out of the way.
2. When I turned onto the more direct route anyway, it sat there and tried to get me to make a u-turn for almost 30 miles before it gave up and pointed me in the correct direction. The distance to destination readouts went from 415 to 220 miles! What's with that??
Needless to say, I'm not impressed with the units routing decisions on longer trips.
3. I was getting low on fuel while coming into the east side of Little Rock on I-40. I decided to ask it to take me to a gas station. It generated a nice little list. Some Exxon station was number one so I picked that. I was assuming (silly me!) that they were listed in order of distance from my current location. It brought up the modified directions and I followed it blindly to the destination. What did I find? Absolutely "nothing!" It literally took me down a dead end road that had some old industrial complex (a very small one) but there but no sign of a gas station and no sign that one had ever been there. I'm glad I wasn't that tight for fuel.
This trip wasn't a confidence booster!
