My buddy in his EVO has had his car going 174 MPH without hood pins and no problems. Yes he got a huge ticket shortly after and lost his license for 6 months, so believe me I am not encouraging street racing here, just talking about the durability of the stock latch.

I don't know if it is necessary or not but I sure trust JekzFab so now I may have flip flopped and will soon be getting hood pins once I order my cf hood.
