Yes, that is correct, the connector for the OEM bulb plugs into the Ballast, and the ballast plugs into the new bulb. No cutting or rewiring is necessary. As an added bonus, the ballast only draws 35W vs 55W for the OEM bulb. This means that not only does the Xenon bulb run cooler in the reflector housing, but the entire system draws less current as well.
One point that I forgot to mention is that if you notice where I have mounted the ballast, it is fairly high in the wheel well, and that the electrical connectors are pointed down. While the ballast housing is completely waterproof, it is best to prevent the ballasts getting submerged while driving in normal rain situations, and to prevent water from collecting in the connector housing of the ballast. Even though the connectors have some very good seals, I also added a glob of lithium grease in the connector to further weather seal the connection. The rest of the Ballast housing is sealed, and is completely water-proof, so ideally one could even add HID lighting to their Waverunner!
