My 2007 LX sedan has a 13.2 gallon tank. I subtract how many gallons it takes to top off the tank to determine how much residual fuel was left in the tank at the time I topped it off.
For example, if the low fuel light comes on (typically happens when two segments or less are left on the level scale) and it takes 10 gallons of gas to top off the tank, then I know that the tank contained 3.2 gallons of gas before I topped it off.
