I really don't have access to my spare. Ihave AAA. I left it in for rear end collision protection.
I also didn't upgrade the battery. I did however, upgrade the wiring under my hood. I changed the battery to chassis ground to 1/0, the engine to chassis ground to 1/0 and the positive from the charging system to the battery to 1/0. This was the first thing I did and I noticed a 10% increase in gas mileage, and better performance. Seriously.
I have 1/0 waire running under the car, drilled in through the spare well to a distribution block, and from there to the amps.
The entire car is covered in 2 layers of Second Skin Damplifier Pro (and Dynamat where I ran out of damplifier)
I don't believe in using caps in a system. Those are just band-aids to electrical errors. If you do the wiring right the first time you won't need one.
I built the box to spec for the 2 IDmax 12D2's that I'm using, bolted it to the chassis, and siliconed it to the floor of th etrunk after that. The amp rack is bolted to the box, wires run through the sides of the rack and then built 3 cover panels to the contours of the trunk.
Depending on where you are, I may have friends who own or work at shops there who can help you with the really invasive stuff.
