Note: I did notice that the roof rack killed my mpg on one tank after I remounted it. I adjusted the angle of the fairing so that it layed closer the the angle of the windshield instead of being nearly vertical like in the picture above. Put me back to the above mpg. Having your bike on will kill mpg no matter what...bike = more drag.

I always take the rack off whenever i'm not using it to carry my bike, cause i dont like the look of it. Next time i have it on i'll see if there's a BIG mpg difference with on and off. I know my 2004 corolla lost 4 MPG from my commute to work 33MPG to 29MPG i left the rack on for all SUmmer. Gas was so cheap back then $2.39 a gallon those were the days.
