There was much consternation about how dark to go on the back of the car.
- how big a difference did I want between the front and rear glass
- how dark is too dark for backing up (minor concern)
- how dark is too dark for my own personal taste (I don't mind being able to see in a little bit)
- how dark can I go without the war department having an opinion
I had narrowed it down to 20%, 30%, or 35% and after looking at the Audi in the parking lot with 30% I decided that was about right. The photo book at the shop had several 30%/no tint and 15%/50% jobs and I disliked the extreme contrast more than I disliked being able to see into the back seats a bit.
I can see that a bit darker would have been possible. *shrug*
My car is pretty vanilla (hell! totally stock!) and is likely to stay that way for a while. Maybe if it gets a body kit someday I'll have to go in again and have it darker so I can keep up with the cool kids.
